Welcome to CashClarity: Expense Tracker ("we", "our", or "the app"), provided by Mojito Technologies. We are committed to protecting your personal and financial privacy.
CashClarity is designed with a privacy-first and offline-first philosophy. We believe your financial records belong strictly to you. This Privacy Policy details what information is handled, how it is stored, and how our optional cloud backup operates.
📦 2. Information Handled by the App
The app allows you to record your personal finances. This data includes:
- Financial Entries: Transaction titles, amounts, income/expense classifications, dates, and optional notes.
- Budgets: Overall monthly spending budgets and category-specific budget limits.
- App Preferences: Selected currency symbol, recurring transaction toggles, and category preferences.
All of this information is saved locally on your device in an internal database sandboxed to this application.
☁️ 3. Google Drive Backup & Google User Data
We provide an optional Online Backup & Restore feature using Google Drive:
- How It Works: When you choose to "Sign in with Google", the app requests authorization for the Google Drive Application Data scope (
drive.appdata).
- Hidden App Folder: Your backup file is stored exclusively within your own Google Drive's hidden Application Data folder. This folder is restricted and accessible only by CashClarity. It does not mix with your general Drive files.
- No Developer Servers: We do not operate external servers, databases, or intermediary cloud storage. Your data travels directly between your device and Google's official Drive servers over encrypted connections.
- No Data Sharing: We do not sell, rent, monetize, or share your financial data or Google account information with any third parties or advertising networks.
Google API Limited Use Disclosure:
CashClarity's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the
Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
📡 4. Device Permissions
The app requests the following minimal permissions:
- Internet Access (
android.permission.INTERNET): Used solely to facilitate Google Drive backup/restore synchronization and to display legal documentation.
- Network State (
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): Used to verify connection availability before starting cloud backup operations.
The app does not request access to your contacts, SMS, precise location, camera, microphone, or external storage files.
🛡️ 5. Data Security
We take appropriate technical measures to protect your information:
- Local Sandbox: Your local database is protected by Android's application sandbox security architecture. Other apps on your device cannot read your records.
- Encrypted Transmission: All cloud backup communications with Google Drive use industry-standard HTTPS and Transport Layer Security (TLS) encryption.
🗑️ 6. Data Control & Deletion
You have full autonomy over your data at any time:
- Local Data Deletion: You can delete individual transactions or clear all application data anytime via Android App Settings or by uninstalling the application.
- Google Drive Disconnect: You can tap Sign out within the app's Settings to remove Google authorization from your device.
- Cloud Backup Removal: You can manage and delete app data directly through your Google Drive settings (Google Drive on the Web → Settings ⚙️ → Manage Apps → CashClarity → Delete hidden app data) or revoke app permissions via Google Account Security.
👶 7. Children's Privacy
CashClarity is not targeted at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children.

We may periodically update this Privacy Policy to reflect app improvements or regulatory updates. Any revisions will be updated on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
