This Privacy Policy applies to the HackGuard mobile application and related services that link to this policy. It covers features such as security scans, Wi-Fi security checks, app-security review, breach checks, ad blocking, and private browsing where those features are available.

The information processed by HackGuard depends on the features you use. It may include:

• Information you provide: for example, an email address or other identifier that you submit for a data-breach check.
• Device and app information: device type, operating-system version, app version, language, and basic technical diagnostics needed to operate and improve the service.
• Security-related information: network or Wi-Fi details, scan results, device-security indicators, and information necessary to review installed apps, where permitted by the operating system.
• Usage information: interactions with features, crash information, and performance data if analytics or diagnostics are enabled in the published app.

Data Breach Scan

When you run a breach check, the identifier you submit may be compared against breach-information services to determine whether it appears in known compromised datasets. Only submit information you are authorized to check.

Wi-Fi Security

Wi-Fi checks may process current network characteristics and security settings to identify common risks. Some network information may be supplied by the operating system and can require permission.

App Security Scan

Where the operating system permits it, HackGuard may review information about installed applications or app-security signals to help you identify potential risks. The exact information available varies by device and OS version.

Ad Blocker

If you enable DNS-based ad blocking, DNS requests may be routed through the configured DNS provider, such as AdGuard DNS. That provider may process DNS traffic under its own privacy terms.

Private Browser

The private-browser feature is designed to reduce locally retained browsing traces. “Private” does not make you anonymous to websites, network operators, DNS providers, or other parties that can observe internet traffic.

HackGuard may request system permissions only when required for a feature. Depending on your device, these may include access related to network state, Wi-Fi information, notifications, or other security functionality.

You can review or revoke permissions at any time in your device settings. Some features may stop working if a required permission is disabled.

Information may be used to:

• Provide and operate the security features you request.
• Detect errors, abuse, and technical problems.
• Maintain app reliability, compatibility, and security.
• Understand feature performance and improve the user experience when analytics are used.
• Comply with applicable law and valid legal requests.

HackGuard may rely on third-party infrastructure or service providers for functions such as DNS protection, breach checking, crash reporting, analytics, hosting, or app distribution. These providers may process limited information on our behalf or under their own terms.

We do not authorize service providers to use data for unrelated purposes beyond providing their contracted services, except where they act as independent controllers under applicable law.

Information should be retained only for as long as necessary to provide the relevant feature, maintain security, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements. Retention periods can vary depending on the type of information and the service involved.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. However, no mobile application, internet transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information. You can also control many permissions directly through your device settings.

HackGuard is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the service, contact us so the matter can be reviewed.

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, legal requirements, or our data practices change. The updated version will show a revised effective date. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or through another appropriate method.
